WHEN WE GIVE

A Rhythm of Faithfulness

Giving is not only about how or how much, but we also practice when we give.

Scripture teaches that generosity should be intentional, consistent, and worshipful.

“On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.” (1 Corinthians 16:2)

1. WE GIVE WEEKLY (AS AN ACT OF WORSHIP)

We give as part of our regular worship rhythm.

Just as we pray, sing, and hear the Word, we also give as an expression of our devotion to God.

Make giving a consistent part of your weekly worship whether in person or online.

2. WE GIVE FIRST (PRIORITY)

We give God the first portion, not what is left over.

“Honor the Lord with your wealth
and with the firstfruits of all your produce”  (Proverbs 3:9)

When you receive income, consider giving first as a declaration of trust in God as your Provider.

3. WE GIVE CONSISTENTLY (DISCIPLINE)

Consistency builds spiritual maturity.

Whether weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, we encourage everyone to develop a regular pattern of giving.

Recurring giving through online platforms is a helpful tool to remain faithful in every season.

4. WE GIVE AS GOD PROSPERS US

Our giving reflects how God has blessed us.

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

As God increases your provision, allow your generosity to grow as well.

5. WE GIVE IN SPECIAL MOMENTS

There are times when we give beyond our regular pattern:

  • Special offerings
  • Outreach opportunities
  • Missions support
  • Benevolence needs

Stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit and open to moments where God invites you to give sacrificially.

6. WE GIVE WITH PURPOSE

Giving is not random, but it is intentional.

We prepare our hearts and plan our giving as an act of obedience and worship.

Take time to pray and determine your giving in advance, rather than reacting in the moment.

Giving is not about convenience, but it is about commitment.
